Rancho Texas Theme Park
The Theme Park in Puerto del Carmen is one of Lanzarote's major attractions. As well as rides there are crocodiles, birds of prey, parrots, farmyard animals, exotic birds and an Indian Village.
Ocean Water Park
Situated in Costa Teguise, this water park offers a fun day out for all the family, from the most exciting rides for the more courageous, to the more relaxing, where you can find peace and quiet for the less adventurous.
The Cactus Garden
Designed by the Canarian Artist César Manrique, the El Jardin del Cactus has a superb array of over 1000 species of Cacti. There is also a windmill which has been restored and displays some unusual metal sculptures.
Timanfaya National Park
The National Park in Timanfaya is picturesque for its lunar appearance, which was created during the 17th and 18th century volcanic eruptions to this side of the island. Because of the shortage of rainfall there is a drastic lack of erosion and this gives it the strange and unique appearance. The area also contains many plant species, some of which are rare. The local name for the national park is Fire Mountains. This is where one of the world's longest natural phenomenons took place, where 25 volcanoes erupted from September 1730 to April 1736.
Los Hervideros wave's
Los Hervideros (literally the 'Boiling Waters') are a series of caves and blow holes caused by erosion from a former Lava flow. As the waves crash into the caves, mountains of white surf are produced, giving the appearance of 'Boiling Waters'. Here it is possible to walk around the cliffs and watch the breakers crash into the caves from one of the natural 'balconies' which are around it.
San Jose Castle
The San Jose castle is the oldest building on Lanzarote, built by an Italian engineer in 1590 it is situated on top of the hill in Puerto de Naos. Whilst here you can enjoy dining in the restaurant and looking at some contemporary art in the gallery.
Castillo de San Gabriel
The Archaeological Museum was originally constructed in 1574 as a defence to the Harbour at Arrecife, it was then reconstructed after being destroyed in 1586 by the famous pirate Morato Arraez. Following this reconstruction it was then used by the military until the 1950s. It displays a magnificent drawbridge at its entrance.
El Golfo
El Golfo (Charco de los Clicos) is a semi-circular Volcanic Crater (half of it has been eroded by the sea) which is filled with Sea-water that has filtered through the black sand which separates the lagoon from the sea. The Green Lagoon (which gets its colour from the algae living in the water) is a magnificent sight, which contrasts a black sand beach and weird looking rock formations.
Pardelas Park
A small park but one which will keep the children entertained and offers a variety of plants and animals as well as donkey rides and craft making. There are walking tours where you will meet some of the parks animals. Food is usually given at the entrance so the children will delight in feeding the animals.
