A relaxing holiday with sun, sand and sea is what Maspalomas is all about. It is an ideal beach based family holiday, the children will just love the sand dunes and drifting into shore on their body boards. The area is well protected and therefore very safe. The beach is famous for its beautiful sand dunes, which in fact, form a good few miles of the beach landscape.
The area is not just about beach and sea, there are plenty of other things to keep you amused and entertained, without exhausting your pocket or yourself! The Dunes Nature Reserve is home to many different types of fauna and plant species; why not see if you can spot something unusual.
A short distance away from the beach there is the Banana Park, the Palmitos Park, and Sioux City which are all close by and easily accessible by taxi or by public bus. You could visit one of the shops to choose your holiday souvenir or gift to take home.
There are a good variety of cafes, bars and restaurants close to the beach so you won't have to go far for that refreshment or snack. Night time entertainment is mostly hotel based, although the restaurants usually provide a good meal at a reasonable price if you just want to sit and ponder about your holiday, or plan tomorrow.
The beach at Maspalomas invariably leads you to its neighbour, Playa del Ingles where you will find another resort to interest you, again it has the usual shops and beach entertainment, restaurants, cafes and bars.
There is an 18 hole Golf Course at Maspalomas if you tire of the beach and feel like being slightly more active. Here you can enjoy a leisurely game of golf in its beautiful surroundings.
So, although you will not find a holiday at Maspalomas an action packed adventure, you will still find enough to do, away from the beach which is the all important factor in most people's holiday wish list. Of course, the fantastic beach is there if you want it.
