Torremolinos used to be the Costa Del Sol's club and beach capital attracting many British visitors each year and getting a disreputable reputation. These days however, the resort has seen many changes and as the popularity of Fuengirola increases, Torremolinos has gained some respect back and is an ideal resort for anyone.
The town centre is kept very clean and is well maintained, the colourful flowers that trail from shops and buildings give it a pleasant fragrance. The street of Calle San Miguel is pretty and has retained its original charm. Through the cobbled narrow streets, there are some tiny shops and a few cafes so it is well worth taking a stroll along this part of the town to see a different aspect to it.
There is a nice sandy beach which is well equipped with water sports and facilities to keep you occupied. The sea is shallow and warm and very enticing on a hot summers day to cool you down. Along the beach front you will find plenty of ice cream parlours, cafes, bars and take aways so you won't have to go far to get something to keep hunger or thirst at bay. There is something to suit everyone's taste.
There is an aquapark at Torremolinos where you can find some thrills, slipping down the slides and flumes. The children will adore this, as will you if you feel like some adventure. Nearby there is a horse riding centre where you can take a pony trekking or just enjoy interaction with the horses.
These days the nightlife at Torremolinos is very low key, most clubbers tend to visit nearby Benalmadena's port or Puerto Banus. However, for something a little more sedate, you can still find some bars, or English and Irish pubs, where you can enjoy a pint and relax. Torremolinos is popular with the gayscene, becoming one of Spain's primary gay resorts.
We believe there is something for everyone at Torremolinos, whatever your taste.
