Travel Guide

Santa Susanna resort is almost like holidaying in two different places at the same time. You have the busy beach front area, which houses a mass of bars, restaurants, sea side shops and more and then you have the old town, which has managed to keep its identity and charm.

The promenade takes you to the neighbouring resort of Malgrat de Mar which is a busy resort with plenty of restaurants, bars and discos to keep you entertained. The promenade is busy, always lots of things going on both daytime and nightime.

In the old town you will find some traditionalism amongst the narrow cobbled streets, old watch towers and churches to explore, not forgetting the town square where life passes by at a slower pace. There is a nice fresh produce market on a Tuesday where you will be able to buy a variety of locally grown fruit and vegetables, olives and nuts.

Around you is the mountainous region known as the Massif Montnegre, if you feel like taking yourself away from the busy beach area you should take the footpaths and head upwards, stopping as you go to take in the spectacular scenery of the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea rolling into the cliffs below. The Massif is a National Park and is therefore very popular with nature lovers.

If you are here in August you will be able to take part in the Town's fiesta: lots of dancing, parades and fancy dress with a firework finale. You will be welcomed and encouraged to join in the fun.
