Mastihari is a traditional and authentic fishing village which has managed to retain all of its Greek charm.
At night the views are even more magnificent, can you imagine yourself watching the sun go down with a glass of superb wine in such serene surroundings?
Mastihari has its own tiny port where you can watch excursions depart and arrive, to and from other local islands and the coastline around Kos. You can also catch a ferry from this port to go to Kalymnos, where you can do some extra sightseeing. You could go to the Sponge Museum or the famous Kefalos Cave.
If you walk into the village centre, you will find a typical atmosphere with friendly locals who are never too busy to say hello. You will find some fantastic sea food restaurants, where the choice is freshly caught fish that day.
