Marmaris is a lively and bustling resort on the coastline of the Mediterranean Sea.

Marmaris has a fantastic beach called Icmeler, the water is so calm and shallow with a gentle shelve, it is ideal for families and younger children. Water sports are available in abundance along with swimming, and these areas are segregated so you can still splash about safely. The promenade is lined with palm trees and it is interesting to take a walk around the marina which has plenty of restaurants to offer.

There is a beautiful lagoon at Olu Deniz which is safe and superb for children, the water is so warm you won't want to come out of it.

The town has many shops and bazaars where you can easily spend lots of time browsing, buying and haggling (don't be embarrassed about this as it is expected). You can visit one of the carpet warehouses too and watch how the traditional Turkish rugs are made.

The town has a magnificent castle full of history and magic and the ancient town is well worth a visit.

Nightlife is busy here you will be able to find something, depending on your choice from quiet bars and restaurants to clubs and music bars.
