The beach at Kefalos is simply idyllic. If you imagine yourself standing on a white sandy beach, looking across at azure clean seas then you will have an idea of what Kefalos is like.
An interesting trip you might like to take is to catch a small boat to the nearby beach called bubble beach, here, thanks to active volcanic jets the water is like a Jacuzzi. It is a very strange phenomenon that is well worth a visit.
You could also take a boat trip to Nissyros which is a volcanic island, full of peace and tranquillity.
The town centre is traditional and full of clean white houses where locals gather around to talk and natter about life. The streets are narrow but you will be able to find an interesting selection of shops to attract you in.
At a short distance you will find the old windmill and some archaeological ruins like the Basilica of Agios Stefanos. As you walk around the older part of town you will come across the Byzantine Church and temples built during the Hellenistic times.
If you enjoy walking there are some nice walks along the coastal path, which also lead inland. You will be able to see the flora and fauna that exists on Kos.
Life is pretty laid back at Kefalos although you can find plenty to do if you go looking for it.
