Holidays in Kassiopi could be described as near perfect. With its mixture of sun, sand, atmosphere and traditional charm it will be ideal for all, whatever your age or interests.
It is a popular and busy resort; still a working fishing village and you might see the fishermen hauling in their catch. The harbour is a particularly interesting area where you can find a taverna and have a drink whilst watching the sun go down under the stars.
The harbour is also a busy area during the day with little boats going about their way and ferrying tourists to some of the other attractive beach spots and attractions on Corfu. When you stop to look around you, the views of what remains of Kassiopi Castle are astounding, especially when night falls and the castle is illuminated with colourful lights. It is simply picture perfect. The castle remains are open to the public if you want to get inside and look closer at its history.
After a gently walk to the centre of town you will find a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. For those of you who are self catering you also have a choice of supermarkets which sell day to day commodities, or beers, wines and spirits. There is a good choice of typical tourist shops where you can browse looking for that perfect holiday gift to take home.
There are several beaches in the vicinity; most have adequate facilities for sun bathing, showers and toilets. At the beach to the headland, this is a popular spot for diving and snorkelling, but please take note and be aware of sea urchins which lurk on some of these rocks. The main beach has been awarded with the European Blue Flag for its cleanliness. Most of the beaches in this area are a mixture of pebbles and shingle, so appropriate footwear might be worth using.
As mentioned it is a lively place, loved by teenagers and those looking to dance the nights away. For this reason it is ideal for people who are looking for a buzz and energetic holiday.
