Travel Guide

Imagine yourself on an island with picture postcard views of the sea and surrounding scenery? Well, Formentera is a tiny island which lies at Ibiza's southern most point. It is only 19 kms in length and is situated approximately 3 kms away from Ibiza. At low tide is not an impossibility to stroll between the two islands, although the more usual way is to take a short ferry crossing between the two.

The island is as quiet as you would imagine, the beaches are idyllic with fine white sand and heavenly crystal blue seas. It is a popular place with nudists, who make it their retreat, so don't be surprised if you find some sun kissed bodies lying on the beach.

You can enjoy some popular water sports like scuba diving or snorkelling, sailing or wind surfing but when you feel you've had enough of the beach you can go for some strolls into the interior of the island and have a browse around. You wouldn't do wrong to hire a bike and go exploring, the roads are quiet and the surrounding scenery is awesome. You might see La Mola which stands proud at the highest point on the island, the cliff face is quite dramatic and the lighthouse is well worth a photograph.

You could hop on a boat (or go for a walk at low tide) and go to Espalmador, a natural lagoon which is popular for you to mud bathe. It's a tradition that still takes place today.

Could you ask for anything more?
