Dassia is a popular and friendly resort; the locals will invite you to their establishments with open arms.
It is close enough to Corfu Town to be ideal as a base so you can go exploring the other sites to see on Corfu. It is situated on the eastern coast, and is therefore close enough for you to see Albania and mainland Greece. The views around the coastal area are stunning, and which will provide you with plenty of photographs.
The beach is clean, although shingle, that should not damper your fun as it is well serviced with water sports and other facilities such as water skiing, pedaloes and snorkelling spots. The sea is calm and crystal clear and very inviting for your paddle or swim, or purely just to laze in the sea with its gentle waves. There are some wooden platforms providing you with an area to descend and splash into the sea.
There are plenty of good traditional restaurants where you will find something to suit your taste. You don't have to go too far to find these as there are many eating and drinking establishments lining the beach front.
There are some lively establishments which might suit the younger group of people. They can stay open until late and play lots of modern pop music for you to tap your feet to. For a wider choice you could hop into a taxi and go to Corfu Town where you will find many more bars and tavernas. You could also take a bus as the distance isn't too far. For those seeking a quieter evening, you will find ample restaurants to dine in with a pleasant ambiance.
