Cesme is a popular Aegean Sea beach resort, it has Blue Flag beaches, water sports and other entertainments so your day will be busy if you are looking for activity. The beaches at Cesme are exceptionally good for wind surfing.
It has a good mixture of restaurants serving traditional and international menus, even fish and chips if you are missing home.
The centre of Cesme has an interesting Genoese fortress, which in the 16th century was restored by the Ottomans.
The next door fortress built by Suleyman the Magnificent around the 16th century has been restored and is now a hotel. There is also the Hagios Haralambos Church as the Amir Caka art gallery in the 19th century.
You can take a boat excursion from Cesme to visit some of its many islands and it is possible to catch a ferry from Cesme to Venice if you feel like incorporating a trip to Italy.
