Calis is a popular beach resort where life is calm, quiet and traditionally Turkish.
The beach is long and a mixture of sand with shingle but alongside it there is a nice promenade with some shops, bars and restaurants. The beach has a good variety of water sports available and if you feel like a change from the beach there are a couple of Turkish baths where you can enjoy water and massage. There is also an aqua park with plenty of opportunities for water fun, sliding and swimming.
You might be sharing the beach with some sea turtles that use the area to nest and lay their eggs in the sand, which makes the region also popular with nature lovers.
Calis has a weekly market where you will have no problem trying to find a holiday souvenir or gift. The market is very colourful and full of traditional Turkish atmosphere.
