There are a few shops, supermarkets and tavernas which line the main street so you can have a good opportunity to have a browse if you wish and to look for your holiday souvenirs. The centre of town provides a more relaxing and traditional atmosphere, here you will find some Greek restaurants where you can sample the delights of their menus, including some which serve fresh fish, locally caught that same day.
The nightlife is quite lively, but really only from local tavernas or the English type pubs, so it is nothing too boisterous.
For something of archaeological interest you can visit the Mycenean Arcadia which is believed to be the oldest early town of Zante. You will see plenty of ceramics from that era.
