Agadir is a modern cosmopolitan town and is fast becoming one of Morocco's favourite destinations for holiday makers.
Agadir has a huge sandy beach into which the Atlantic Ocean gently rolls in and it which is patrolled by policemen on horses and dune buggies. For those who love water sports you will find everything available including scuba diving, waterskiing, jet skiing, sailing and paragliding. The other sports which are available away from the beach are tennis, golf, horse riding and camel rides. All the hotels that are alongside the beach have been built very tastefully and don't detract from the astounding coastline. If you can tear yourself away from the beach there are plenty of things to do or sightsee.
Leaving Agadir behind and going on an excursion is easy as there are many places to visit such as Taroudant, which is a laid back town and is famous for its 13th century ramparts and red-ochre walls which will dazzle and amaze you. You will be happy to spend many hours wandering around the Souks, looking at the wares from embroidery to wood carvings and colourful Arabic shamags. You are bound to find a bargain or two. An interesting thing you might see is a worker chipping away at the limestone in the streets.
If you want to travel further and approach the gateway to the Sahara Desert you can visit Ouarzazate where you can hop on a camel or go in a 4 x 4 across the dunes of the desert.
Agadir has an interesting nightlife where you might find something traditional like belly dancing or snake charmers performing their acts. The restaurants in Agadir serve traditional Moroccan and international cuisine at affordable prices.
The views that surround Agadir of the Atlas Mountains are just simply astounding. You will be in your element here with so many things to see and do.
